Background

Shobhit Kumar belongs to a family of social workers who for the last several generations have devoted their lives for the development of the weaker section of the society by promoting educational activities in the region. Several educational institutions were founded by his ancestors in the Saharanpur district West Uttar Pradesh.

Carrer

Shobhit Kumar set up the NICE Society (now Shobhit University) as a promoter-member in 1989. During the years, he became one of the key team members for the development of different educational institutional in Western Uttar Pradesh under the banner of NICE Society. One of the Engineering and Technical Institutions of NICE Society has been developed at village Gangoh, District Saharanpur, at his initiatives with a view to developing the rural areas of the State. At present, he is the Chancellor of the Shobhit University and an indefatigable member of a team of professionals working whole heartedly for the development of technical education in the state.

Shobhit Kumar is at present working on a project of developing a 300-bed charitable hospital at Gangoh for providing medical facilities to the people in and around that area where there are no medical facilities within a radius of 40 kms. from Gangoh. As the promoter-member of the project, he is responsible for the overall infrastructural development of the upcoming hospital. The first phase of the project is in completion and some departments of the hospital have started functioning. He has further plans to develop quality human resources in the domain of medical sciences. He is also working on step-wise development of Para-medical, Dental and Medical Institutions at Gangoh.

NICE Society was honoured to receive the patronage of Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhawart Ji, the Hon’ble Vice-President of India to chair the Third Scholarship Award ceremony, of the Society. The ceremony was held at his residence Conference Hall 6, Maulana Azad Road, New Delhi on September 10, 2005 at 6 PM. The ceremony was graced by Shri LK Advani Ji, Former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Shri JP Mathur Ji, Managing Trustee of JP Mathur Charitable Trust, Smt. Kamla Advani Ji, Shri Sunil Shastri, Prof. DS Chauhan, Vice Chancellor of UP Technical University Lucknow, Prof. PP singh, Vice Chancellor of SVBP Agriculture University, Meerut, Smt. Adarsh Vijendra, Patron NICE Society and Mr. Shobhit Kumar, Chairman NICE Society along with a large number of dignitaries. A total amount of Rs.12,95,608.00 was distributed to 48 eligible students of NICE Society Institutions .

NICE Society was honoured to receive the patronage of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to chair the second Scholarship Award ceremony, for the session 2003-20004, of the Society and distribute scholarships to 47 qualified students of NICE Society Institutions at his residence 7, Race Course Road, New Delhi on December 20, 2003 at 5 PM. The ceremony was graced by a large number of dignitaries. A total amount of Rs. 9,85,387.50 was distributed.

The unique initiative of NICE Society has been highly appreciated by people of all sphere of society. The first Scholarship award ceremony, for the session 2002-2003, of NICE Society was chaired by Shri Lal Krishna Advani Ji, Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of India. The ceremony was held at the residence of Deputy Prime Minister itself and an amount of Rs. 6’65’526.00 was awarded to 36 meritorious students of NICE Society Institutions.
